[Obelisco Vaticano]

The press illustrates the Vatican obelisk on its original site at the present Sacristy of St. Peter. The obelisk, surmounted by a cloudy sky and depicted in the foreground at the center, is placed on a stepped base, on which are figures observing. In the square are ruins and in the background the Sagresia, on the sides made of smokeless chimneys. Bottom on the stem of the obelisk is inscribed: Divo Caesari Divi Iulii F. Augusto Ti. Caesari Divi Aususti F. Augusto Sacrum, attributed title, Printed, probably, before the displacement made by Pope Sixtus 5. in 1586, Previous inventory 7735, remounted on brachetta, in a folder
