Tolkien, who wrote two of the most extraordinary and influential books of the twentieth century. For millions of readers in the modern world, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings have offered a form of re-enchantment, and have opened a door to myth and fairy tales, and to the discovery of fantasy literature. This VSI offers an accessible and authoritative guide to the full range of Tolkien’s extensive writings, including his posthumously published work.
