Dispositivos de medición de frecuencia reconfigurables = Reconfigurable frequency measurement devices

View through CrossRef
This thesis presents reconfigurable microwave discriminators used for the development of reconfigurable measurement circuits with high miniaturization, low power consumption, reduced weight and cost. The concept is demonstrated by the design and manufacture of several microwave discriminator topologies to generate 2 and 4 bits used for frequency identification. These topologies are implemented with transmission lines (microstrip and coplanar waveguides), solid state technology, and micro mechanical-electro-systems MEMS. Three reconfigurable microwave discriminator topologies are presented; the first topology generates 2-bits of frequency identification, the second topology generates 4-bit of frequency identification. These topologies use solid state technology (PIN diodes), microstrip transmission lines and operate in the frequency bands L and S. The third topology uses coplanar waveguides and two SPQT switches; each switch of the device is integrated in a RF-MEMS SPQT chip. This topology operates in the frequency bands C, X and Ku. Finally, the last topology presented in this work is the design of a MEMS phase shifter, which generates a phase shift of 180°. This topology uses slotline transmission lines and operates in the frequency band Ka. This phase shifter allows developing reconfigurable microwave discriminators with high miniaturization and reduced weight.

Title: Dispositivos de medición de frecuencia reconfigurables = Reconfigurable frequency measurement devices
