Lettering: The International AIDS Memorial Quilt. Not all battles are fought with a sword. June 23-25, 1995 at Yerba Guena Gardens Mission Street between 3rd and 4th. In 1987, the first Quilt panel was sewn here in San Francisco to remember a special friend who had died from AIDS. Today, the Quilt has 30,000 panels from all over the world. And today, AIDS has killed three million people worldwide ... It will have panels from 30 countries and will cover a city block ...
