Monika Debus (born 1961, Siegen) is known for her expressive, often poetic ceramic vessels and sculptural works, which blur the line between vessel, sculpture, and painting. After training as a potter at S. Hagemann in Oldenburg and studying ceramic design in Höhr-Grenzhausen, she established her own atelier in the Westerwald in 1993. Her works with salt-firing at around 1140 °C, creating matte surfaces where delicate salt traces enrich colors, deepen tones, and reveal painted details.
