Petro Danylovych Sardachuk: A Diplomat Devoted to Serving Ukraine

This article provides a comprehensive study of the biography, professional activities, and scholarly contributions of the prominent Ukrainian diplomat Petro Danylovych Sardachuk (1938-2010). It chronicles Sardachuk’s life journey from his birth on July 14, 1938, in the village of Serkyziv in Volyn, through his education at Ivan Franko Lviv State University, specializing in International Relations, to his successful defense of a doctoral dissertation in historical sciences. The article thoroughly explores the early stages of Sardachuk’s diplomatic career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian SSR throughout the 1970s and 1980s. The central part of the article focuses on Petro Sardachuk’s activities during Ukraine’s independence, a period in which he emerged as one of the country's leading diplomats. Sardachuk served as Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland, Slovakia, and Finland.
