Este artigo científico analisa a tragédia shakespeariana de Hamlet sob o prisma específico das relações de poder, estabelecendo uma interface entre a Ciência Política e a Arte Teatral, com o propósito de produzir aportes teóricos que permitam melhor compreender o fenômeno político. Além de considerações acerca de dados biográficos de Shakespeare e de aspectos gerais a respeito da peça “Hamlet”, delineou-se um conceito de poder enquanto relação humana, adotando-se Michel Foucault como referencial teórico, tendo-se, ademais, examinado diversas passagens da obra shakespeariana à luz dessa concepção específica do poder.
