The development of Armenia's economy is largely related to the development of the energy sector. The document "Strategic Plan for the Development of the Energy Sector of the Republic of Armenia until 2040" was developed and approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. At present, Armenia's electricity is mainly produced in 3 types: nuclear, hydro and thermal plants, of which about 39 percent is in nuclear power plants, the remaining 60% is almost equally in hydro and thermal plants. The share of all other plants in the electricity balance is quite small - up to one percent. to have 12 billion KWh of output, of which up to 5 billion KWh will be exported in 2020. as of July 1, there are 2878.7 MW power plants operating. The use of artificial intelligence is of great importance in the development of Armenia's energy sector. The purpose of the article is to reveal the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in Armenia's energy sector, particularly in the field of hydropower. The use of artificial intelligence was justified by the example of the Heghnazur hydroelectric plant. The use of artificial intelligence is important in the development of Armenia's energy sector. It will make it possible to save fuel and energy resources, solve some energy security issues, and mitigate environmental problems. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study is based on foreign scientific developments, which makes it possible to regulate the working modes of the hydropower plant remotely without human intervention. The need for the construction of a hydro-electric power plant in the Shirak province has been substantiated through the use of artificial intelligence. Currently, the HPP works without interruption. Artificial intelligence can be used for the construction of the Hekhnazur hydroelectric plant, as well as for the design and construction of any power plant in RA.
