Efficacy and safety of isolated and combined use of high molecular weight weakly stabilized hyaluronic acid products
View through CrossRef
Objective. To estimate effectiveness and safety of isolated use of biorevitalizant based on slightly modified hyaluronic acid, as well as its combination with 755 nm alexandrite laser. Material and methods. The study involved 40 patients, and 8 ones comprised the second stage. At the first stage, patients were divided into two groups: group 1 — one procedure with injection of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid 1%; group 2 — similar biorevitalization procedure together with alexandrite laser at the same session. At the second stage, abdominal area was divided into three segments (only hyaluronic acid, hyaluronic acid with laser procedure and control) with further ultrasound and biopsy. Results. After the first stage, doctors and patients in both groups were satisfied with results of correction, but the highest rates were observed after complex correction. At the second stage, ultrasound revealed thickening of dermis after hyaluronic acid alone. In case of concomitant laser, changes in dermis were accompanied by thickening of epidermis. Histological control after hyaluronic acid alone revealed moderate thickening of epidermis, areas of enhanced synthesis of collagen and elastic fibers with restructuring of extracellular matrix in dermis. In complex correction, enhanced proliferation of keratinocytes in epidermis and its thickening were observed. Fibroblast proliferation and increased amount of collagen were noted in dermis. Conclusion. Complex correction provides better results compared to monotherapy. In addition, biorevitalizants in one session with non-ablative laser are safe.

Title: Efficacy and safety of isolated and combined use of high molecular weight weakly stabilized hyaluronic acid products
Description:
