The impact of agrochemicals on bacteriovores soil protozoa

In modern agriculture system, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides are used in crops to enhance the production. These synthetic chemicals adversely affect soil microorganisms. To assess the adverse effect of a fungicide, Mancozeb and a herbicide, Glyphosphate on Bacteriovores Protozoa present study was conducted. Different concentration of both synthetic agrochemicals were supplemented in medium and the Bacteriovores Protozoa were grown for 5 days, 10 days, 15 days and 20 days. It was observed that the Mancozeb was more inhibitory in comparison to Glyphosphate, however, both agrochemicals adversely affected the abundance of studied Protozoa. At a concentration of 2mg/l Mancozeb, the abundance of Protozoa decreased up to 211 ind/l from 1450 ind/l while in Glyphosphate the abundance decreased up to 1115 ind/l from 1665 ind/l within 20 days..
