AN APROACHING OF RAHMAH IN POLITICAL LEADERSHIP OF TUN SAKARAN DANDAI

Rahmah is an approach that refers to the meaning of love and courtesy that is delivered in life. In the context of good leadership, the implementation of rahmah is a vital element to achieve the results in implementing something. Tun Sakaran Dandai, is an influential political figure in Sabah, originated from the Semporna district, who has succeeded in promoting Islamic teachings comprehensively in the community through leadership. The involvement of Tun Sakaran in political leadership at the highest level clearly had an impact from the point of view of teachings of Islam nature so that he is known as a humble, humble figure and the only political leader in Sabah who has shaped his politics along with the strengthess of religion. In this writing, the researcher has used qualitative methods which are interviews with politicians, close local residents and analyzing documents through written resources such as books, journals and written reports. Through this writing it can be seen how Tun Sakaran Dandai applied the rahmah approach in politics. The main scope of this writing is continued by reviewing the explanation of the approach and criteria that have been applied by Tun Sakaran Dandai in manifesting of rahmah as a platform in the political struggle besides raising the lesson of religion. Thus, the results of this finding clearly proves that he is an example of a political leader who has successfully shaped his political authority coated with a compassionate approach and needs to be emulated by current community leaders.
