Study of Chenopodium interjectum J. MURR, Ch. mixtifolium J. MURR and Ch. laciniatum J. MURR
View through CrossRef
AbstractLeaves (at the base of the branches and the middle cauline leaves) of the species Chenopodium interjectum J. MURR, Ch. mixtifolium J. MURR and Ch. laciniatum J. MURR are ± 3‐lobed. The blade of these leaves has in the second third of its length — as a rule on both sides — a conspicuous tooth. Ch. mixtifolium J. MURR has ± entire margin of the blade between the lateral lobes and the above‐mentioned conspicuous teeth; Ch. interjectum J. MURR — entire or denticulate; Ch. laciniatum J. MURR — toothed. Ch. mixtifolium J. MURR (with inflorescentia cymoso‐paniculata) differs from Ch. interjectum J. MURR and Ch. laciniatum J. MURR conspicuously by the inflorescence (inflorescence of these two species is spicato‐paniculata).According to the study of types and of further specimens a correction or a complement of J. MURR's diagnoses of these three species was made. All the three species have the same chromosome count: 2n = 54.The results ensuing from the cultivation of Chenopodium × mendelii D. are important for the understanding of Chenopodium album agg.
