5) Wood: Daniel in the lion's den.
View through Europeana Collections
A pair of different copies from the same postcard, including a reproduction of a painting by the French artist Horace Vernet (1789-1863) depicting the biblical figure of the Prophet Daniel, surrounded by lions. In one of the postcards, the reproduction was printed in black and white, while in the other, in brown-sepia shades. The two postcards have the same inscription, with the artist's name and the name of the work in Hebrew and German, as well as the number of postcards in the series of postcards "Lebanon". On the back of the postcards, which are divided, is printed the trademark of "Lebanon" Publishing, which produced them at the beginning of the second decade of the 20th century. These postcards were not used and were removed from the collection of "Lebanon" postcards donated to the National Library in 1939 by the publisher's editor-in-chief, Mr. Benjamin Mintz, Warsaw.
