Kilkhampton Church, Cornwall f.157

View through Europeana Collections
This drawing shows the beautiful interior of St James Church. It was built by the Granville family at the end of the 15th century in the perpendicular style and is considered one of the finest examples of this type of church in the county. An earlier Norman church stood on this site which was built by the monks who built Tewkesbury Abbey and the church retains the Norman south porch. It is possible that an Anglo-Saxon church stood here too but there exist no remains to prove this conclusively.
