Anatómia historického domu. Hodnoty historickej architektúry a urbanizmu Banskej Štiavnice

A professional publication -- an university textbook is intended not only for university students of fields relevant to the protection and restoration of architectural heritage, but also for owners of historic houses. The book tries to present the cultural values of historical architecture and urbanism on the concrete example of the unique historical city of Banská Štiavnica. Architectural values are explained through construction principles, architectural shapes in different styles, urban layout, etc. The publication also emphasizes regional architectural characteristics, which may differ in different regions. All of this is represented by architectural drawings of Marcel Mészáros on specific historical houses in Banská Štiavnica. Since among the most frequent adaptations are residential functions, the publication focuses on typological types of residential character that are typical for the city: the town house, the craftsman's house and the miner's house.
