ETHNOSCIENCE ANALYSIS OF TRADITIONAL FOOD “NASI KRAWU” AND ITS INTEGRATION AS A SOURCE OF SCIENCE LEARNING

Science learning can provide direct skills through observation and experimentation that can help students understand natural phenomena in their surroundings and daily lives. However, many schools still face obstacles in science education, one of which is teaching practices that are still oriented towards mastery of material that tends to rely on a single source of learning, such as textbooks. This study aims to transform the indigenous knowledge of the Gresik community in making nasi krawu into scientific knowledge. In addition, the process of making nasi krawu is expected to become a contextual learning resource for students. This study is a descriptive qualitative study with an ethnoscience approach using the triangulation method. The data obtained was then analyzed using inductive analysis. Based on the results of the ethnoscience research, nasi krawu can be transformed into scientific knowledge and applied in science education. In addition, the ethnoscience study of Nasi Krawu is expected to be developed into a learning medium and Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on the ethnoscience of nasi krawu, and its effectiveness will be measured through a quasi-experimental research design or classroom action research (PTK), using measurement instruments such as science literacy tests in the form of pre-tests and post-tests.
