Wielkopolskie rezydencje w stylu palais-donjon

The article presents the palatial residences of the Greater Poland region designed in the style of the palais donjon. The characterisation of these structures is preceded by an exploration of the origins and development of the so-called wooden conical fortifications, referred to in written sources as fortalitia, as well as stone defensive manors. The spatial scope of the analysed phenomena in defensive architecture is confined to the area of Greater Poland, within the boundaries of the former Poznań and Kalisz voivodeships, and the chronological framework encompasses the period from the 14th century to the end of the 17th century.
