Jainism reveres the twenty-four Jina or tirthankara spiritual guides who show the way to escape from the cycle of rebirths and achieve liberation (moksa). A common representation is that of a Jain master in the middle of the sculpture with a rhomboid-shaped srivatsa jewel on the chest and the twenty-three smaller tirthankara around him.
