Water bodies of complex purpose (VKN) as the base of modern industrial fish farming
View through CrossRef
The state of fi shery use of small agricultural reservoirs of complex purpose (VKN) of the Republic of Tatarstan was considered. A modern assessment of the fi sh productivity of the fi shing areas of the Kuibyshev reservoir within the Republic of Tatarstan was carried out based on the results of the actual fi sh catch. The features of VKN in comparison with the classic feeding ponds of fi sh farms have been studied. The historical aspect of the development of VKN in the Republic of Tatarstan will be touched upon. Their typing was carried out and the features of the level regime were revealed. Prospects of industrial methods of fi sh cultivation in agricultural small reservoirs of complex purpose are shown. At the present stage, the aquaculture of the Republic of Tatarstan is focused on the extraction of fi sh from the Kuibyshev and Nizhnekamsk reservoirs and pond, farm fi sh farming, where the main cultivated objects are carp and herbivorous fish. The maximum fish productivity of fishing areas in the Volga River in the Republic of Tatarstan does not exceed 35 kg/ha. The
average fi sh productivity of ponds in the region is about 300 kg/ha. The involvement of about 10,000 hectares of HCN water area in the production of marketable fish products makes it possible to intensify the process of obtaining valuable marketable fi sh products. At the current stage of
development, it is necessary to make more active use of the existing water resources using industrial methods that were not used in the 1990–2000s. These works have a signifi cant socio-economic impact in the form of additional valuable fish products and new fish farms.
