<b>A Critical Study on Contemporary Poetry in Indian English Writing</b>

This study conducts a comprehensive analysis of Indian English poetry. The author has incorporated samples from notable works and analysed the issues they present to illustrate the evolution of Indian English poetry across time. Since its inception, Indian English poetry has experienced several revolutions, inventions, influences, and challenges. No one would have ventured to write without a profound familiarity with the imperial age and colonial authorities, if at all. Initially, the term "Indian English" was not employed. Indian poets continue to generate substantial English poetry or emulate it, as has been their tradition. This research will investigate the evolution of Indian English poetry from the colonial period to the present. This research examines the literary, cultural, and historical influences on Indian poets' works in the English language. The researcher examines the reflection of India's linguistic heritage, cultural identities, and socio-political dynamics in Indian English poetry. The study highlights the impact of Indian English poetry on global literary discourse and the role of prominent poets in promoting Indian literature. The study examines the impact of globalisation and modernity on the themes and stylistic evolution of English poetry composed in India. This study aims to demonstrate the expression of intricate themes of individualism, postcolonial consciousness, and cultural hybridity in Indian English poetry.
