Poster

This is a poster produced for Shell in 1965, in the 'Shell Guide to the Roads of Britain' series. It is one of four posters in the series, and shows Ermine Street, particularly a section of the A15 in Lincolnshire which sits on the old Roman Road from London to York. The poster has a depiction of the street by the artist David Gentleman (1930– ), a description and map of the road, and the slogan 'Go Well - Go Shell. The Key to the Countryside' at the bottom. The other three posters in the series depicted Berkshire Ridgeway, Sewston Lane, and Corrieyairach Pass.
