Sejm Ustawodawczy z lat 1919 - 1922 zajmuje miejsce szczególne wśród sejmów II Rzeczypospolitej. Był to bowiem sejm, którego głównym zadaniem było określenie ustroju państwa, nadanie mu konstytucji. Sejm Ustawodawczy, inaczej niż następne, był suwerenem, różnił się też od parlamentów późniejszych swą jednoizbową strukturą.
