František I. Naples

František I (Francesco I.) Neapolitan (19. 8/1777, Naples - 8/11. 1830, Naples), son of the King of the Eyes of Sicily Ferdinand I (12/1/1759, Naples - 4/1/1825, Naples) of the genus Bourbon-Anjou and Marie Karolina (13. 8. 1752, Vienna - 8. 9. 1814, Hetzendorf) from the genus Habsburg-Lorraine. After his mother, he was the grandson of František Štěpán Lotrinský and Maria Theresa. He has been the co-ruler of his father since 20. the years and the king of the Both of Sicily became after his death. He reigned in 1825-1830 and became sadly famous as an incapable, superstitious and reactionary king. He was married twice, first in 1797-1801 with the Archduchess of Austria, Klementina, then from 1802 with the Spanish daughter-in-law Marie Isabella. His successor became the eldest son, who ruled under the name Ferdinand II. in 1830-1859. The impetus for making a porcelain set probably came from František and his wife. In addition to their portraits, they made ten children born in their marriage until then. A portrait of František’s eldest daughter, who came from his first marriage, Karolina’s Duchess of Berry, was not included in the service. Nor was the effigy of the son Ludvík, the later Earl of Aquila, who was born 19. 7. 1824, that is probably when the service was already produced. Unfortunately, a caffetian with a portrait was not preserved in the set The 9th child from this marriage, Karolina Ferdinand (born 1820- + post quem 1825). He probably broke. Porcelain is marked on days by a golden royal crown and the inscription “Napoli 1824.”
