BOVINE LEUKOSIS: EPIZOOTIC SITUATION IN THE WORLD AND THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS EPIDEMIC FOR THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

View through CrossRef
The article discusses the epizootic state of bovine leukosis in the world and the Republic of Kazakhstan, trends in the spread of the disease and measures to combat it. Today, bovine leukosis is common in many countries, but its levels vary by region. In the countries of the European Union, strict control measures are being carried out, including serological monitoring, the destruction of infected animals and the introduction of infection eradication programs. As a result of such measures, some countries such as Denmark, The Netherlands, and Germany were able to eliminate the disease completely. In the countries of North and South America, the epizootic situation remains serious. The high rate of spread of the virus is observed in Brazil, Argentina and the United States, where the infection causes significant damage to dairy and meat cattle breeding. In Russia and the CIS countries, the active fight against BLVcontinues, but the presence of endemic foci requires increased control and improvement of diagnostics. The main methods of combating bovine leukosis include serological control, the destruction of infected animals, the introduction of biosafety measures, and the selection of infection-resistant breeds. The article highlights the importance of international cooperation and the development of diagnostic measures that urgently check the detection of the disease in a timely manner in order to reduce the spread of the virus and eliminate the disease at the country and world level
