Interpretation, Not Repetition: Reflections on Bultmann as a Theological Reader of Paul
View through CrossRef
ABSTRACT
Bultmann's Theology of the New Testament is instructive as a theological performance, which goes beyond redescription to theological explication. His reading of Paul illustrates his approach to theological interpretation, which is integral to the responsibility of theology to each new generation. Although we should now do theology with the NT in a very different form, Bultmann's challenge remains: to go beyond mere repetition in order to render this text theologically fruitful, and communicable as good news, in our contemporary context.

Bultmann's Theology of the New Testament is instructive as a theological performance, which goes beyond redescription to theological explication.
His reading of Paul illustrates his approach to theological interpretation, which is integral to the responsibility of theology to each new generation.
