The Rig Veda Purusha Sukta Was Referring to Nakshatra Constellations and Its Parts as Purusha, Not Brahma
View through CrossRef
The Rig Vedic Purusha Sukta is consistently referred to as the creation verses, but the interpretation of Purusha as Brahma does not align with the context of the Purusha verses, wherein there are analogies of sacrifices being performed, where the Purusha is tied as a sacrificial animal, or the Purusha is used as a ladle through which the offerings are poured into the ceremonial fire of the yagya, or the Purusha being the master of immortality when moving through food (consumed becomes part of consumer).
<div>
The interpretations do not acknowledge the analogical dimension of the Vedic corpus; the various aspects and attributes of the Purusha do not correspond with the interpreted idea of the Purusha. The interpretations do not take into consideration the very fact that the Vedic seers were referring to multiple subjects other than theology. Also, it is important to register that Brahma or Prajapati is not a Vedic deity.

When the Purusha Sukta is read with full awareness of the Vedic corpus and the Vedanga, the true meaning of the Purusha emerges as an ever-present entity perceivable through Nakshatra constellations each differentiating its energy attribute, a measure of time when seen in conjunction with the passage of moon, and movement when its four parts are considered; altogether-a unified cosmological entity.
