PSEUDOHISTORICAL NARRATIVE OF THE “RUSSIAN WORLD” IN ITS HISTORICAL-THEOLOGICAL DIMENSION

This article is about another pseudo-historical narrative of Russian propaganda known as the “Russian world”. The chosen topic of the article is undoubtedly relevant, because today’s Russian-Ukrainian war is a direct continuation of those armed and political conflicts on the part of Russia that took place in previous years. For a successful confrontation, today we need not only to strengthen our military and economic potential, but also, remembering the words of the Savior that we should fear those “who can destroy the soul” (Matt. 10:18), to take care of the spiritual component of our society. That is why the purpose of our study is an attempt to consider from a historical and theological angle another Russian pseudo-historical narrative about a special “Russian world” and the consequences that it may have for Ukraine. The state of scientific development of the topic. Today there are quite a few scientific publications on the origin, analysis and significance of modern Russian ideology, which is expressed in the narrative about the “Russian world”. Let us name the most significant works that we used in writing the article. In the work of M. Dyakonov. “The Power of the Moscow Sovereigns”. St. Petersburg, 1889, the very institution of Russian autocracy and its ideological basis are considered. The message of the elder Filofey, in which Muscovy was proclaimed the heiress of “both Romes” with its detailed analysis is contained in the work “Literary Library of Ancient Russia”. St. Petersburg, 1997, edited by the now deceased academician D. Likhachev. M. Ulyanov “On the time of the emergence in Russia of the concept “Moscow – the Third Rome”. M, 2010 and professor of the Moscow Theological Academy A. Belyaev in the two-volume work “On Godlessness and the Antichrist”. Sergiev Posad, 1898, are representatives of two opposing points of view on the importance that this idea had for the development of Moscow ideology. Criticism of this statement was dealt with by D. Dontsov in his work “The Modern Political Situation of the Nation and Our Tasks”. Drohobych-Lviv: VF “Vidrodzhennia”, 2011 and S. Plokhiy “Nalivaikova’s Faith: Cossacks and Religion in Early Modern Ukraine”. K.2006. The modern leader of the idea of “Russian peace” is the Russian philosopher A. Dugin. In his work “Fundamentals of Geopolitics: The Geopolitical Future of Russia. Thinks in Space”. M. 2000., he rethinks this narrative in accordance with the realities in which, in his opinion, Russia found itself in its forced confrontation with the West. The work of the late Metropolitan Ivan (Snychov) “Autocracy of the Spirit”. Institute of Russian Civilization. 2007 is an excursion into the most secret “dreams” of the Russian Black Hundreds patriot. The Internet resources that were used to write the article are primarily publications of the decisions of the councils of the Russian Orthodox Church, the OCU and the UGCC, as well as the infamous “Valdai Speech” by V. Putin.
