INVESTIGATION OF THE INNOVATIVE ACTIVITY OF ENTERPRISES IN UKRAINE

The innovation activity of enterprises is a complex characteristic of innovation activity in dynamics. In view of this, innovation activity requires constant research, taking into account its current state, which will allow developing an effective organizational and economic mechanism for counteracting threats and obstacles to the development of innovation activity of domestic enterprises. A general vision of the situation and its understanding, generalization of the initial information on innovations, study of the nature and degree of variation of factors affecting innovation activity are a prerequisite for choosing a strategy for enterprise development. In solving the tasks set in this area, an important role is played by the use of methods of economic and statistical analysis, which allow to reflect the state of innovation activity, as well as the scale and trends of innovation processes in various sectors of the economy. The aim of the study is to determine the current state of innovation activity of enterprises in Ukraine and the determinants that impede its growth by analyzing the main indicators of innovation activity of enterprises. At present, it can be stated that the Ukrainian economy is characterized by a low level of innovation activity of enterprises, insufficient development of modern infrastructure to support innovation by the state, and significant differentiation of all indicators of innovation activity by regions. Among the main determinants of low innovation activity of enterprises in Ukraine, first of all, the following should be highlighted: the business sector's lack of susceptibility to innovation; high cost of innovation; high risk of innovation; low efficiency of scientific and technical activities; lack of effective legislation in the field of innovation; lack of effective mechanisms of state regulation of innovation; insufficiently effective use of budget funds in this area; low quality of innovation management. At the same time, the introduction of innovations is primarily influenced by economic factors, the main of which is the lack of own funds of enterprises. The impact of internal factors that impede the introduction of innovations, such as low innovation potential and lack of qualified personnel, is less pronounced among innovation-active enterprises.
