Análisis ontológico-sociológico a la luz de la Fratelli Tutti la trata de personas [An ontological-sociological analysis of human trafficking in the light of Fratelli Tutti]

View through CrossRef
The aim of this article is to use an ontological-sociological analysis, informed by *Fratelli Tutti*, to identify the foundations that enable us to understand human trafficking in terms of its structural dimension and its denial of the subject’s humanity. Employing a hermeneutic method, the findings highlight three central themes: firstly, the ontological dimension, in which trafficking entails the objectification and alienation of the subject, violating their inalienable dignity; secondly, the sociological dimension, which reveals how structures of power, inequality, organised crime and globalisation produce and reproduce conditions of vulnerability, particularly among women, children and migrants; and thirdly, an ethical framework based on fraternity, which proposes moving beyond both punitive and welfare-based approaches. In summary, trafficking is a systematic process of dehumanisation that demands structural transformation and collective responsibility aimed at the full restoration of human dignity.
