Hydrocephalus, determining its classifications and causes

View through CrossRef
Abstract Aim: Studying hydrocephalus, determining its classifications and causes, as well as clarifying the diagnosis and treatment of hydrocephalus, and preventing hydrocephalus. Methods: and materials: An operation was performed at Al-Mowasat University Hospital on /826/patients diagnosed with hydrocephalus by consulting the patient files in the Medical Records Department, while following up the cases with radiographs, plain, tomographic, and sonograms in the archives of the Radiology Division. Results: We have found that the incidence of congenital hydrocephalus is greater than that in adults, in addition to the proportion of males being greater than the proportion of females, and that treating acute hydrocephalus results in faster recovery than treatment followed with chronic hydrocephalus, and that investigative diagnosis through axial computed tomography is the most successful method for diagnosing hydrocephalus. . The study also showed an emphasis on following up patients through radiological monitoring after installing the implant. Conclusion: Magnetic resonance imaging gives much more information than CT scanning. Those in charge of treatment should pay attention to CT radiological monitoring after installing the mount.
