La Apología pro Galileo de Tommaso Campanella, que se convierte en defensa de la hermenéutica

View through CrossRef
Concerning the heliocentric system defense written by Tommaso Campanella, this paper connects the apology for Galileo with the hermeneutic intention the Dominican proposes, i.e., as a literal non-interpretative biblical reading, it may prevent a scientific proposal from being accepted or rejected. By showing, based on the Sacred Writings, that no scientific proposal should be rejected at all, the Italian is ahead of its time when the highest ecclesiastical authorities admitted that the Sacred Book can be studied not only by bishops or scholars, but also by every specialist contributing with a novel and critical study of its content.
