Hamlet e a Psicanálise

View through CrossRef
AbstractThis essay aims at bringing, at first, the literary parallels between Shakespeare and Freud from Harold Bloom's analyzes, in particular by discussing the historical importance of Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark. In a second moment, we will deal with Freud's own distinction between Oedipus complex in Sophocles - absent from the repression mechanism - and Oedipus complex in Hamlet, at the dawn of 17th century, characterized by its melancholic features and, fundamentally, by the repression formation. It can then be said that Oedipus becomes Hamlet via repression with civilizational advancement. By way of conclusion, we will try to answer our initial question: what does Hamlet have to teach to the contemporary being, for whom melancholy can be an intolerable state? Keywords: Hamlet. Psychoanalysis. Melancholy. Oedipus complex.
