Resumen: en América Latina, la práctica de la composición algorítmica cuenta con representantes famosos como el argentino Horacio Vaggione o el mexicano Julio Estrada. Sin embargo, no hay mucha historia de software o herramientas informáticas creadas con este propósito. AMI (interfaz musical algorítmica) es una herramienta desarrollada dentro del entorno Max for Live que permite no solo generar listas de datos simbólicos de manera algorítmica, sino también clasificar estas secuencias para obtener una lista de relaciones o similitudes que el compositor puede utilizar como sugerencia para encadenar partes musicales.
