Cultura, arte e dignidade do trabalho: Nise da Silveira, Fernando Diniz e outros companheiros

Based on oral narratives filmed by Leon Hirszman in Images of the Unconscious – In search of daily life space (1983- 1987), we reflect about culture, work, and resistance of artists who, as historical subjects, forge political practices and articulate knowledge in their work toward a society with different ethical and aesthetic directions, and without asylums. Stressing the value of experiences in the field of cultural citizenship and dignity of work, the article problematizes the participation of these players in art history, focusing on the trajectory of Fernando Diniz, Nise da Silveira and other associates.
