Suzanne Valadon, arte y testarudez para sacudir la historia oficial. Una aproximación feminista

This paper proposes a critical approach to the legacy of Suzanne Valadon. It seeks to engage with her works, understanding them as complex manifestos capable of traversing the still-canonical and patriarchal historical and museographic discourses that attempt to confine them. Valadon's work thus becomes an opportune space to revisit the past, but also to further explore the transformative role that heritage institutions can play if they commit systematically (and not just temporarily) to confronting the ghost of history as a narrative, in favor of articulating a counter-memory from the objects-images, capable of shaking and affecting us today. This article invites us to recognize a figure and a legacy that we should not view as an exception that confirms the rule, but rather as a singularity that destabilizes the entire official narrative.
