11 III 2022 r. zmarła w Bydgoszczy Bernadeta Schmidt z d. Gałecka, ps. Hanka Mieczkowska, członkini Polskiej Tajnej Organizacji – Związek Białej Tarczy; więźniarka polityczna Fordonu i Bojanowa. [...] Od 15 IV 1950 r. do aresztowania 8 XI 1952 r. działała w Bydgoszczy i Toruniu w nielegalnej organizacji młodzieżowej, powstałej w lipcu 1949 r. Założycielem i dowódcą był Lech Zakrzewski ps. Karkołomny, członek rozwiązanej w 1948 r. nielegalnej „Krucjaty Eucharystycznej”, organizacji młodzieży przy kościele pw. św. Ducha w Bydgoszczy. Po złożeniu przysięgi organizacyjnej na ręce L. Zakrzewskiego przyjęła pseudonim „Hanka Mieczkowska”. Objęła funkcję sanitariuszki dysponującej lekami dostarczonymi przez członków organizacji, od 1951 r. także rolę skarbniczki. [...]"
