Le Pré-Kerma est une culture qui se développe en Haute Nubie, entre 3500 et 2500 av. J.-C. environ. Partiellement contemporaine du Groupe A de Basse Nubie, elle est annonciatrice des transformations qui caractériseront la période qui lui succède et qui mèneront à l’avènement du royaume de Kerma. Encore mal connu, le Pré-Kerma révèle cependant l’importance de la dynamique des populations locales et permet d’envisager sous un autre angle les rapports entre Haute et Basse Nubie durant cette période.
