Dental anthropology on two skeletons of early bronze age from congaz (gagauzia autonomous territorial unit, republic of moldova): dental wear and non-metric traits
View through CrossRef
The morphological description of the permanent dentition belonging to two skeletons of Early Bronze Age (Jivotilovka Culture) from Congaz, (Găgăuzia Autonomous Territorial Unit, Republic of Moldova) is realized in this article. The work is focused on the nonmetric traits according to the ASUDAS scoring system, and the dental wear. The occlusal wear and antemortem fractures observed in the dental material indicate the consumptions of abrasive and hard foods. Ten nonmetric dental traits were identified. Also, some characteristics of the skeletons were highlighted in this study as possible indicators of stress, such as the asymmetry in the occurrence of the traits on the antimer teeth (pattern groove of the second mandibular molar, and interruption groove of second maxillary incisor).
