The school building at 9 Wielkie Garbary Street was built in 1883. as a German Female School for Higher Education (Töchterschule). In 1920 The school passed into Polish hands, it housed the Municipal Middle School and the Classical and Humanities High School. In 1935 The middle school was moved to the building at 40/42 Sienkiewicza Street. (obverse)
