Abstract
Between 1628 and 1629 three biographies of Góngora are composed in close relationship. From their paratextual condition, they intervene in the controversy of those years about the “nueva poesía.” In the process, the version signed by Pellicer occupies a central place with the particularities derived from the commentator’s attitude and particular intentions. This article analyzes how the vita maior tried to intervene in the “polémica gongorina” and also Pellicer’s literary wars.
