Phylogenetic evolution of 4 genus of primates cytochrome B
View through CrossRef
The region of mitochondrial DNA that codes for cytochrome b is commonly used to determine the phylogenetic relationships between organisms based on the variability of their sequence. It is considered the most useful to determine relationships between families and genders. Comparative studies involving cytochrome b have resulted in new classification schemes and have been used to assign new descriptions of species to known genera, as well as to deepen the understanding of evolutionary relationships. In this study we carried out an evolutionary phylogenetic and molecular analysis of the cytochrome b genes in 3 families of primates and four genera (Alouatta, Callicebus, Plecturocebus, Aotus) and 19 species (Aotus lemurinus, Aotus vociferans, Aotus nancymaae, Aotus trivirgatus, Aotus nigriceps, Aotus azarai, Aotus infulatus, Alouatta sara, Alouatta caraya, Alouatta guariba, Alouatta beizebul, Callicebus torquatus, Callicebus nigrifrons, Callicebus catequensis, Callicebus ornatus, Callicebus discolor, Callicebus durbius, Personatus nigrifrons, plecturocebus caligatus) using the MEGA program, version 6
