This extended interview with Cristi Puiu tries to intertwine several thematic threads: Puiu’s biography, including his experience with his different films; his involvement in, and reaction to, historical events; and his artistic credo. It includes a discussion of important moments such as the 1989 uprising against the communist regime, the 1990 protest against the neo-communists taking hold of power, or the different confrontations between the young and old generations within the film industry.
