Dieser Band ist Ewald Lang gewidmet - zu seinem Abschied als 'amtierender' Direktor des Zentrums für Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft. Ewald Lang leitete das Zentrum für Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft, Typologie und Universalienforschung seit der Gründung 1996 (von 1992-1995 "Forschungsschwerpunkt Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft") und prägte es wesentlich. [...] Der vorliegende Band soll einen Einblick in die Arbeit des ZAS geben; nicht im Sinne eines Ergebnis- oder Jahresberichts, sondern als zeitlich willkürlich gesetzter Querschnitt durch das, was am Zentrum gegenwärtig erforscht wird. Der Kontinuität des Zentrums (und dem Charakter der ZAS Papers) entsprechend repräsentiert er work in progress in unterschiedlichen Stadien, von der Skizze eines Gedankens bis zur Präsentation eines ausgearbeiteten, theoretisch fundierten Konzepts.
