Perspektiv på döden

This text introduces the special issue of Kulturella Perspektiv called "Perspectives on death". Since the topic of "death" has been extensively researched from a cultural and social science perspective, one would think there is nothing "new" to say about the subject. The ten writers try, however, to use the concept of "death" to see where it takes them. It is obvious that "death" was a productive tool to work with. The texts show how death as a cultural concept seems to be firmly rooted in understanding of an absolute ending, and yet, almost all contributions reveal an on-going elaboration with the concept.
