Os cristos de Eça e de Pessoa

<p>O presente trabalho ao considerar <em>A Relíquia </em>de Eça de Queirós e o poema <em>VIII </em>do <em>Guardador de Rebanhos </em>de Alberto Caeiro, heterônimo de Fernando Pessoa, procura sinalizar para o fato de que estes dois autores, através das referidas obras, em épocas diferentes, mas a partir de uma notável figura dentro da cultura ocidental, ou seja, Jesus o Cristo, conseguem aproximar suas literaturas no sentido de que fazem dela um meio para intervir no contexto no qual estão inseridas – seja apostando na crítica, na ironia, no primeiro caso, ou ainda na palavra, na poesia, no segundo. Assim, ambos parecem vislumbrar a possibilidade de verem ressurgir das cinzas de um ultrapassado Cristianismo, o seu grandioso Portugal, há muito considerado “farol de mundos”. E essa possibilidade, nesse caso, recebe o nome de <em>Arte, </em>mais propriamente, <em>Literatura</em>: a <em>Palavra</em>, cáustica ou simples, uma nova religião.</p> <p>In considering Eça de Queirós’s <em>A Relíquia </em>and the poem VIII of <em>O Guardador de Rebanhos </em>by Alberto Caeiro, Fernando Pessoa’s heteronym, this work tries to signal for the fact this two authors, through the works mentioned above, in different epochs, but some a remarkable character belonging to the western culture, namely, Jesus the Christ, manage to get their literatures close by making them a means to intervene in the context they are – whether relying on criticism irony in the first case or on the word, poetry, in the second. Thus both seem to view the possibility of beholding the revival of their grand Portugal from the ashes of an outstritted Cristianism, this country once considered in the past “headlamp of worlds”. And this possibility, in this case, is named <em>Art</em>, or more properly, <em>Literature</em>: the <em>Wor</em>d, caustic or simple, a new religion.</p>
