Hämophilie ist eine erbliche Blutungsneigung, die durch einen Mangel an FVIII (Hämophilie A) oder FIX (Hämophilie B) verursacht ist. Anhand der Restfunktion von FVIII oder FIX wird zwischen einer schweren (Restaktivität <1%), mittelschweren (Restaktivität 2-5%) und milden (Restaktivität 5-40%) Hämophilie unterschieden. Kinder mit Hämophilie zeichnen sich durch eine starke Neigung zu Hämatomen und ein verlängertes, erneutes Nachbluten nach Bagatell-Verletzungen, nach Zahnextraktionen oder Operationen aus.
