During July 2009, a trial excavation was conducted in the parking lot
of the Old 'Akko Development Company at 1Weizmann Street in 'Akko (Permit
No. A-5670; map ref. 206976-7110/758760-91). The excavation, undertaken on
behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and underwritten by the Old 'Akko
Development Company, was directed by E. Stern with assistance of Y. Lavan
(administration), R. Mishayev and M. Kunin (surveying), A. Peretz (field
photography), A. Shapiro (GPS), E. Stern (ceramics), H. Tahan (pottery
drawing) and S. Itkis (drafting).
