Jan Cremer has been painting seascapes since 2000. In his studio in Umbria, far from the sea, he makes large-format canvases on which the water rolls towards you like a tsunami. Unstoppable, wild and foaming in a style known since the late 1950s as 'the peinture barbarism'. Now landscapes have been added, which are sculpted on the canvas with earth from his Umbria. In this exhibition, at the age of eigthy, Cremer once more shows his indestructible vitalism and the mastery of his matter; paint.
