The article provides an overview of the speeches at the Third International Forum “Marxism and Modern Civilization in Russia and China. The Main Problems of Modern Marxism in Russia”. The discussion was conducted in four main areas: the study of modern civilization and the process of modernization in Russia and China; the study of Leninism and its modern significance; the theory and practice of Marxism in the USSR; the “Russification” and “Sinicization” of Marxism. The topics covered included the relationship between the development features of Russian and Chinese civilizations and their modernization models; a comparative analysis of the modernization processes of China and Russia in the pre-socialist, socialist and new (globalization) periods; globalization based on the idea of the coexistence of many civilizations; the main features and trends in the development of modern Chinese philosophy, including its relationship to Russian philosophical thought; the historical significance of Chinese modernization; the concept of the Community of Shared Destiny for Mankind; the main characteristics of the capitalist system of the early 21st century, such as the dominance of transnational corporations, the virtualization of financial capital, the political influence of global financial oligarchs and the formation of global production networks; the development of the post-Soviet school of critical Marxism and many others.
