Electron microscope studies of noctilucent cloud particles
View through CrossRef
Details of the sample preparation and handling techniques of the electron microscope samples for the noctilucent cloud sampling experiment are given. Typical electron micrographs and distribution functions are shown. Most of the noctilucent cloud particles appear to be extraterrestrial in origin. Approximately 10% of the total number of particles collected had a volat, ile coating which is believed to be ice.
